Lt. Gen. Steven Kwast, commander and president of Air University, Ala., has cancelled an entire class (17G) at Squadron Officers School, Air Force Personnel Command announced May 11. The decision was made due to “a course re-write and imminent decision on curriculum changes by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force,” according to a press release. Air University will work to “reschedule and reprioritize SOS attendance” for affected airman, AFPC said. They could be rescheduled to attend the school as soon as the next class (18A), beginning July 31.
Members of the House Armed Services Committee say the AIM-260 Joint Advanced Tactical Missile program has been set back three months due to the ongoing government shutdown. The comment is noteworthy because the JATM's status has been kept tightly under wraps.
