The Air Force is mulling whether to offer monetary and non-monetary inducements to airmen working in the nuclear career field, Lt. Gen. Frank Klotz, Air Force Global Strike Command boss, said Wednesday at AFA’s Air & Space Conference. “I know there are efforts underway within the missile community at this time to take a look at that,” he said in response to an audience question after his address. Klotz said one of the command’s “top priorities” will be “to ensure either through monetary or non-monetary incentives that those people who serve in the nuclear and global strike missions understand the importance of their contributions.” Continue
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
