The 505th Command and Control Wing at Hurlburt Field, Fla., now has under its purview the joint digital integration for combat engagement, or JDICE, mission. The wing’s 505th Operations Group, located at Nellis AFB, Nev., took over the mission from the Air Force Command and Control Integration Center at Langley, AFB, Va., earlier this month. “The addition of this capability enables the US Air Force Warfare Center [at Nellis] to integrate C2 and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance across the Air Force’s major commands and the joint community,” said Col. Ed McKinzie, 505th CCW commander. JDICE activities facilitate battlefield sharing of timely, accurate, actionable, and tactically significant information from many different sources over secure networks. “Adding the JDICE mission allows the wing to be at the center of integration and testing of these capabilities,” said Col. Douglas Anderson, 505th OG commander. (Hurlburt report by Bill Dowell)
