Air Mobility Command Leadership Change

Gen. Paul Selva will assume command of Air Mobility Command at Scott AFB, Ill., on Nov. 30, announced base officials. Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh will officiate the change-of-command ceremony, during which Selva will take the air mobility reins from Gen. Raymond Johns, who has led the major command since November 2009. Johns, a 1977 Air Force Academy graduate, is retiring after 35 years of Active Duty service, effective on Jan. 1. Selva was previously assigned as Pacific Air Forces’ vice commander at JB Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. He has had previous mobility assignments at Scott. From December 2004 to August 2006, he was US Transportation Command’s operations director. For the 18 months before that, he managed AMC’s Tanker Airlift Control Center. The year before that, he was the center’s vice commander.
