The Air Force has awarded Bronze Star Medals for meritorious service to Lt. Col. Anthony Maisonet, TSgt. Nicole Davis, and TSgt. Dameon Jackson. Maisonet, commander of the 75th Security Forces Squadron at Hill AFB, Utah, led the standup of the largest contingent of security forces deployed to defend an air base in combat since the Vietnam War while deployed to Iraq. Davis, with Hill’s 75th Logistics Readiness Squadron, was a convoy commander and squad leader, serving with the US Army in Iraq. Jackson, with the 1st Special Operations LRS at Hurlburt Field, Fla., served as a convoy and detachment commander with the Army in Iraq, where his unit achieved a 99 percent vehicle readiness rate in delivering supplies to 23 forward bases. The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
