The Air Force received its 20th C-5M Super Galaxy on Monday at Travis AFB, Calif., 28 days ahead of schedule, announced Lockheed Martin. An Air Force crew ferried aircraft No. 85-0010 from the company’s plant in Marietta, Ga. The C-5M is Travis’ second Super Galaxy, states a July 1 release. Lockheed Martin is contracted to deliver 52 C-5Ms to the Air Force. “The last plane [to be delivered] will be in the spring of 2018,” Chad Gibson, a Lockheed Martin spokesman, told Air Force Magazine.
Members of the House Armed Services Committee say the AIM-260 Joint Advanced Tactical Missile program has been set back three months due to the ongoing government shutdown. The comment is noteworthy because the JATM's status has been kept tightly under wraps.
