A US-Dominated Coalition Effort

Coalition countries, other than the United States, have conducted 1,735 out of 7,992 total air strikes against ISIS targets since the operation began last summer, Pentagon spokesman Navy Capt. Jeff Davis said on Monday. The US continues to work with the coalition of 65 countries, and though the vast majority of airstrikes come from US aircraft, international partners help in other ways, he said. This includes letting the US use bases in countries such as Turkey and Jordan, and other methods, such as intelligence. The Defense Department expects to increase its airstrikes in Syria, and is bolstering its presence at nearby bases. A contingent of 12 A-10s from Moody AFB, Ga., deployed to Incirlik AB, Turkey, in late October and six F-15E Strike Eagles are expected to deploy to the base shortly in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Six more F-15Cs from RAF Lakenheath, England, deployed to Incirlik on Nov. 6 to help the country secure its airspace.
