The Pentagon confirmed today that an improvised explosive device killed MSgt. Brad A. Clemmons, 37, of Chillicothe, Ohio, on Aug. 21 when the vehicle in which Clemmons was riding struck the IED. Clemmons, who was an explosive ordnance disposal craftsman with the 354th Civil Engineering Squadron at Eielson AFB, Alaska, was traveling in a convoy to Taji, Iraq.
The Air Force has awarded General Atomics a $99.3 million contract for a stealthy, ultra-long-range surveillance aircraft design to be ready by 2028. The plane, nicknamed "GHOST," would also have a strike mission.
