The lone Air Force Reserve Command recruiter working to fill some 1,400 slots to re-establish the 440th Airlift Wing from Milwaukee to Pope Air Force Base (soon to be Pope Army Airfield) in North Carolina is still shy a few airmen. The Fayetteville (N.C.) Observer reports that SMSgt. Lonnie Taylor says he is still looking for all types from experienced colonel to new recruit. The Observer notes that the advance party from Wisconsin will be in North Carolina by Aug. 20 to begin transition efforts.
