A committee representing the Tucson residents that have been complaining about noise emanating from Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz., has developed a list of 24 recommendations, some that would require implementation by local, state, and federal agencies outside the base, reports the Tucson Citizen. The top recommendation would have the base’s A-10 Warthogs fly some 1,000 feet higher over Tucson than they do at present, but that would require changing flight patterns at Tucson International Airport. Another suggestion would increase sound proofing requirements for residential homes. Davis-Monthan officials plan to study the recommendations and could implement any that pass a safe-for-flight review.
