A First For First Sergeant Academy

CMSgt Danny Doucette became the first member of the Air National Guard selected to serve as commandant of the Air Force First Sergeant Academy at Maxwell AFB, Ala., according to a release. “It is my privilege and honor to mentor all future first sergeants over the next several years,” said Doucette, who assumed the role on May 27, states the June 3 release. As commandant, he will ensure that curriculum requirements set by first sergeant duty managers are incorporated into the academy’s courses and will also be responsible for the institutional integrity and accreditation of courses. “Chief Doucette represents education; training and experiences; and depth and breadth of career progression,” said CMSgt James Hotaling, ANG command chief. “He symbolizes the modern Air National Guardsman who can cross all three components and proves he can operate at some of the highest levels of our national capacity,” said Hotaling.
