Lt. Gen. Ellen Pawlikowski will become the military deputy in the Air Force’s acquisition shop if the Senate approves President Obama’s nomination of her for that role. The Defense Department announced this nomination on Monday. Pawlikowski has overseen Air Force space acquisition since June 2011 as commander of the Space and Missile Systems Center at Los Angeles AFB, Calif. She’d replace Lt. Gen. Charles Davis, who has been the military deputy for acquisition since May 2012. Nominated to replace Pawlikowski at SMC and to receive a third star is Maj. Gen. Samuel Greaves. He’s been serving as deputy director of the Missile Defense Agency since August 2012. From August 2009 to February 2011, Greaves was SMC’s vice commander.
