Raytheon inaugurated a new Electronic Warfare Systems branch, bringing its jamming, aircraft self-defense, and related products under a dedicated business unit, the company announced. “This new mission area will focus our resources and expertise to provide the technology systems and advanced capabilities our warfighters need to effectively and safely execute their mission,” said Rick Yuse, the company’s space and airborne systems business president. Raytheon builds the Air Force’s Miniature Air Launched Decoy (MALD) and MALD Jammer, in addition to aircraft-mounted radar warning systems, countermeasures, and jammers. The new business area, based at the company’s El Segundo, Calif., facility, will also take over Raytheon’s next generation jammer, and advanced EW programs, according to the Feb. 11 release.
