Maxwell Graduates First ANG Officers

The Air National Guard’s Academy of Military Science, which moved from McGhee-Tyson ANGB, Tenn., to Maxwell AFB, Ala., graduated its first new Air Guard officers—119 out of the 126 who started—in the new location last week, reports the Montgomery Advertiser. Lt. Col. Ronald Daniels, AMS commander, told the newspaper there were inevitable hitches because “when you make a move like this, you can never plan for everything that’s going to happen.” With the addition this past year of the Air Guard officer training program, Maxwell now serves as the single officer training site for all three components—active, Guard, and Reserve.
