Airman Engineer Wins Air Force Award

SrA. Christopher Davidson is the Air Force’s Space Systems Operator of the Year for 2007 in the airman category. Davidson is the first airman engineer in the 3rd Space Operations Squadron at Schriever AFB, Colo., where he led the first Air Force Satellite Control Network upgrade in 20 years. He said he joined the Air Force to finish a bachelor’s degree in physics and leave, but he now plans a USAF career. Capt. Autumn Carter, the squadron’s ground systems engineering chief, noted Davidson’s “high level of professionalism, system expertise, dedication, and initiative” and added that everyone “comes to Chris for answers to questions.” He is still working on a physics degree, with 23 hours done and a 3.6 grade-point average.
