Air Force aircraft maintainers at Travis AFB, Calif., and Robins AFB, Ga., have been demonstrating the Telephonics TruLink Wireless System. The demonstration was part of WIAGO ( Wireless Intercom for Aircraft Ground Operations)—an initiative of the Air Mobility Warfare Center’s Air Mobility Battlelab at Ft. Dix, N.J. The WIAGO system uses a hand-held radio-size, battery-operated adapter, an improvement from the corded aircraft intercom system currently in use. WIAGO can operate as a stand-alone system, independent from the aircraft intercom system, or in concert with it, reports Air Mobility Command. The access point can connect to any active aircraft intercom terminal, using an aircraft-specific cable.
