Jumper Gets a Portrait:

Oct. 18, 2006

Retired Gen. John Jumper, former Air Force Chief of Staff, got to see his official portrait unveiled at the Pentagon Monday. His words: “I appreciate everyone coming out for my hanging.” Jumper was the 17th Chief of Staff, taking the reins of command shortly before the 9/11 terrorist attacks and leading the service through the first years of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He retired in November 2005.
