Air Combat Command advanced its redesignation of the 347th Rescue Wing as the 23rd Wing (of legendary Flying Tiger fame) by a few days, holding a formal ceremony at Moody AFB, Ga., Friday. The action coincides with the move of the 23rd Fighter Group from Pope AFB, N.C., to Moody and its placement under the new 23rd Wing.
