The Defense Department’s Tricare Management Activity has created a new policy to prevent a break in Tricare Prime coverage for family members of National Guard and Reserve members recalled to active duty. A TMA news release calls the new policy, which authorizes a 30-day retroactive Prime enrollment period, “a seamless transition” from Tricare Prime coverage under the Transitional Assistance Management Program to the “same coverage as an active duty family member.”
While the U.S. and its allies up their efforts to build out multi-orbit, multi-constellation satellite communications that are harder for an enemy to disrupt, officials noted technical and cost challenges, particularly for the user in the field.
