The driver of a van carrying three airmen fell asleep at the wheel and lost control of the vehicle, which rolled over near Wadi El Na Natron City, Egypt on September 19, Air Force investigators announced Monday. According to the incident report, the driver lost control and flipped the vehicle when attempting to right the van. He apparently was speeding. An Air Force officer was killed and two enlisted airmen were injured in the accident. They were in Egypt as part of the Bright Star combined exercise.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
