National Guardsmen in Texas have been supporting the Texas National Guard Counter Drug Task Force by tearing down abandoned homes identified as crack distribution locations. “Crackdown” teams usually comprise four Air National Guard and two Army personnel trained for quick demolition, taking the houses down to bare lots within a couple of hours. Top Lawmakers Want 15 Percent Pay Raise for Enlisted Troops

A new law introduced by Congress would raise the pay rate 15 percent for junior enlisted troops and seek improvements on a range of quality of life issues, such as pay and compensation, child care, housing, health care access, and military spouse employment.
