The Air Force Personnel Center at Randolph AFB, Tex., stands to gain 170 civilian personnel positions from personnel operations at Bolling AFB, D.C.; Hill AFB, Utah; Robins AFB, Ga.; Tinker AFB, Okla.; and Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Air Force manpower and personnel head, Roger Blanchard, says the realignments are the product of BRAC 2005, but they are in line with the service’s long-running plan to centralize more personnel functions. He asserted that the move would help the Air Force “recapitalize and balance its portfolio.”
The two Collaborative Combat Aircraft prototypes are expected to fly very soon, as Anduril Industries and General Atomics Aeronautical Systems conclude ground tests. The two aircraft will fly from commercial airports in the desert areas north of Los Angeles, California, not far from Edwards Air Force Base.
