Managing security operations at Ali Base and Camp Adder in Iraq is a coalition force manning what’s called the Combined Defense Operations Center. The CDOC comprises, among others, USAF controllers and camera operators, a US Army convoy and patrol tracking monitor, and liaison officers from the US Army and coalition forces. According to the Ali Times, the CDOC has “more than a half century” of experience on its team on any given day. They use the latest technology to monitor what’s taking place inside and outside the two facilities, directing security forces where needed.
The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
