The Air Force has awarded a Bronze Star medal to Col. William O’Donnell for his service as commander of the 386th Air Expeditionary Group in Kuwait, where he led a force of active, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve Command airmen who conducted 7,900 mishap-free combat flying hours over 5,400 combat sorties. During his tenure, the group also flew more than 106,000 passengers and 13,000 tons of cargo. TSgt. Denise Johnson reports that O’Donnell has been serving as chief of staff for 3rd Air Force-United Kingdom, but left recently for his new assignment at US Air Forces in Europe headquarters.
Members of the House Armed Services Committee say the AIM-260 Joint Advanced Tactical Missile program has been set back three months due to the ongoing government shutdown. The comment is noteworthy because the JATM's status has been kept tightly under wraps.
