The Airman’s Leadership School at Offutt AFB, Neb., now bears the name of retired CMSAF James McCoy, reports the Omaha World Herald. McCoy, who was the sixth person to hold the Air Force’s highest enlisted position, retired in 1981, but has continued to serve and represent the Air Force and, in particular, the enlisted force, including serving as the President (1992-94) and Chairman of the Board (1994-96) of the Air Force Association.
The Pentagon is readying a slew of reforms to its acquisition practices designed to speed up the military’s process for buying weapons and systems and structure its program offices to prioritize competition and commercial capabilities, according to a draft memo.
