All of Russia’s 2005 missile tests were completed successfully, according to a Strategic Missile Force press release quoted by the Russian News & Information Agency. The statement also noted that the Russian missile service had reorganized, forming two missile divisions and more than 20 units and in so doing cut a number of officers. Although it went on to say, “We managed to keep up to 70 percent of officers whose posts had to be cut.”
The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
