New Ground Control System Online for Milstar: The US Air Force has transitioned from its legacy command and control system to the new CCS-C—Command and Control System-Consolidated with transfer of Milstar satellite operations to the new system, says system designer Integral Systems. The CCS-C now enables “state-of-the-art” control for Defense Satellite Communication System III and Milstar and will cover the Advanced EHF and Wideband Gap-filler Satellites.
The last remaining T-1 Jayhawk at JBSA-Randolph, Texas, took its final flight to the "Boneyard" at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., on July 15. The 99th Flying Training Squadron will train pilots using T-6 and simulator until it gets T-7 Red Hawk in fiscal 2026.
