One military officer connected to the intelligence team called Able Danger who, in 2000, knew of information about the 9/11 terrorist group has come into the light. In an interview with the New York Times Monday, Army Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer said that military lawyers forced the Able Danger team to cancel three appointments with the FBI. Shaffer confirmed the team had identified Mohamed Atta three other of the hijackers by name.
The Pentagon awarded a contract worth over $2 billion for the next batch of F-35 engines to Pratt & Whitney on June 5. The deal for Lot 17 F135 engines, totaling $2.02 billion, is expected to be completed by December 2025.
