Air Force Space Command has deactivated the Air Force Space Battlelab at Schriever AFB, Colo., after 10 years of operation. The space battlelab, as with the seven other Air Force battlelabs, fell prey to the service’s money woes. All seven were to close this fall. SSgt. Don Branum reports that the Space Innovation and Development Center at Schriever will pick up seven of the currently active 14 projects begun in the space battlelab.
Lt. Gen. Jason T. Hinds took charge of NATO Allied Air Command and U.S. Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa on Oct. 31, one day after being confirmed for the post by the Senate.
