The 8th Security Forces Squadron no longer restricts its law enforcement operations to within the grounds of Kunsan AB, South Korea. By agreement with local authorities, 8th SFS airmen are working off base with members of the Korean National Police to patrol areas of Kunsan City frequented by US airmen. Base officials say they worked for several months to coordinate permanent implementation of the joint patrols.
Members of the House Armed Services Committee say the AIM-260 Joint Advanced Tactical Missile program has been set back three months due to the ongoing government shutdown. The comment is noteworthy because the JATM's status has been kept tightly under wraps.
