Viper to Get New Nav System:
The Air Force has chosen Northrop Grumman’s LN-260 fiber optic gyro inertial navigation system for an avionics upgrade for the F-16 Multinational Fighter Program. Northrop officials say that tests conducted earlier this year demonstrated that the new INS provides “greatly reduced target location errors” and enhanced imagery.
The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
