Despite a headline that proclaims the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center in Georgia is “feeling budget squeeze,” the ALC’s financial manager, Mike Mehrman, tells the Macon Telegraph that he is confident the center can handle the coming budget crunch. According to the Telegraph, the center’s 2006 operations and maintenance funding is about 13 percent less than budgeted and, like other Air Force elements, faces an even bigger reduction for 2007.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
