The Air Force has awarded Bronze Star medals for meritorious service to Lt. Col. Susan Bassett, 1st Lt. Bryan Bouchard, and SMSgt. Bobby Simmons Jr. Bassett, chief nurse with the 882nd Training Group at Sheppard AFB, Tex., helped train nurses of the Afghan National Army during a year-long deployment to Kandahar. Top Lawmakers Want 15 Percent Pay Raise for Enlisted Troops

A new law introduced by Congress would raise the pay rate 15 percent for junior enlisted troops and seek improvements on a range of quality of life issues, such as pay and compensation, child care, housing, health care access, and military spouse employment.
