Coalition strike aircraft flew a total of 38 close air support missions in Afghanistan and 57 in Iraq on June 28, Air Forces Central said in a release. This included F-15E Strike Eagles dropping 500-pound joint direct attack munitions and a 2,000-pound JDAM onto anti-Afghan government forces in the vicinity of Asadabad, Afghanistan, and A-10 Warthogs hitting enemy forces near Sar Hawzeh with 500-pound laser-guided bombs and 500-pound general-purpose bombs as well as cannon rounds and rockets, AFCENT said.
The U.S. military conducted strikes on Iranian targets around the Strait of Hormuz on May 7, as the conflict with Iran flared up again—though officials say the ceasefire remains in effect.
