B-1s and about 350 airmen from the 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth AFB, S.D., deployed to Andersen AFB, Guam, in support of the Continuous Bomber Presence operations in the region. They are replacing the 9th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron from Dyess AFB, Texas, which has been deployed to Andersen since February 2017. This is the second time Ellsworth has deployed B-1s in support of the CBP mission. In this photo, a B-1B Lancer assigned to the 9th EBS prepares for takeoff from Andersen to a conduct bilateral training mission with Royal Australian Air Force joint terminal attack controllers July 18, 2017. The mission was part of Talisman Saber 17, a training exercise designed to maximize combined training opportunities and conduct maritime preposition and logistics operations in the Pacific.
