The Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Ga. has netted three more of the Shingo Public Sector Prizes for excellence in manufacturing, Maj. Gen. Michael Collings—the center’s commander—announced July 21. The ALC won a gold prize for its work with the C-5 programmed depot maintenance package, and a bronze for its work with F-15 depot maintenance and F-15 avionics work. The center became one of the first ever public industries to get the prestigious Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing, which honors Lean manufacturing concepts and is named for the designer of the Toyota production system.
