Unions? We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Unions

A federal court has slapped down as illegal a new personnel system at the Department of Homeland Security. That isn’t going to stop DOD, which is pushing ahead with a similar plan for its own workers. The Pentagon earlier this year published new rules for its National Security Personnel System showing that NSPS emulates the DHS system in the very areas that got DHS in hot water, namely labor relations. A Pentagon spokesman said Wednesday that DOD intends to proceed, regardless, and expects to crank up the new system later this year. We’ll see.
