The Air Force Association held its inaugural Wounded Airmen Cycling Challenge fundraising ride on May 20 at CycleBar, an indoor cycling studio with over 120 locations nationwide. The Wounded Airmen Cycling Challenge raised over $54,000 in support of AFA’s Wounded Airmen and Family Programs, surpassing its original goal of $50,000. AFA’s Wounded Airman Program has provided over $300,000 in direct support of wounded Airmen since it became a formal program in 2013. “Our first annual Wounded Airmen Cycling Challenge exceeded all of our expectations,” said Larry O. Spencer, AFA President. “This was a wonderful event that provided an opportunity for AFA staff, Chapter members, supporters, and donors to get together to show their support for our wounded heroes. It is crucial now more than ever that we give a voice to our wounded Airmen and make their stories known.” For more on the event, click here.
The Air Force’s 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing added a new squadron April 25 and will activate another May 2—expanding the structure of the service’s lone spectrum warfare wing as it looks to grow its numbers too.
