CIA Director: More Attacks Coming

ISIS has more attacks “in the pipeline” and western intelligence services need to evolve to counter the group’s growing intent to attack, said the director of the Central Intelligence Agency on Monday. CIA Director John Brennan, speaking at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C., said European intelligence services have had trouble tracking ISIS targets due to the number of individuals traveling between Europe, Iraq, and Syria. “There has been a significant increase in the operational security” of the operatives, he said. This comes as intelligence services are facing political challenges, due to issues such as the Edward Snowden disclosures, that are limiting their ability to collect intelligence. “Every day we are constantly evolving,” Brennan said. ISIS has an external agenda and is determined to carry out more attacks, such as the Nov. 13 attacks in Paris, which Brennan said the group planned over the course of several months. ISIS forces also claimed responsibility for ?downing a Russian airliner in Egypt earlier this month, killing all 224 people on board.
