Airmen at Kunsan AB, South Korea got to meet and talk with a living Air Force legend, Medal of Honor recipient when retired Col. Bernard Fisher visited the facility last week. He was in Korea to see his son, Maj. Steven Fisher at Osan Air Base, and asked to stop by Kunsan, as well. The elder Fisher received the MOH for his heroism while rescuing a fellow A-1E pilot during the Vietnam War. (Read John Correll’s Into the Valley of Fire) At Kunsan, Fisher said he wanted the airmen to know “that the satisfaction you get from the Air Force does not come in a medal, it comes from knowing that you are part of something bigger than yourself.” (Kunsan report by SrA. Steven Doty)
