US-led ground forces called in at least four air strikes to help deal with a large group of insurgents that attacked Afghan and coalition forces on patrol in the southern Uruzgan province on Nov. 14, according to a Combined Joint Task Force-82 release from Bagram AB, Afghanistan. The statement noted that “precision air strikes effectively eliminated the insurgents who were trying to reinforce the enemy positions.”
Army Gen. Christopher G. Cavoli, head of U.S. European Command and Supreme Allied Commander Europe, warned that Russia would remain an enduring threat to NATO and global security, regardless of the outcome of the war in Ukraine.
