The Air Force has decided to waive repayment of a portion of GI Bill education benefits for those reservists that cannot find a new slot when their units close under BRAC 2005. The part about not having to repay is the good news. This waiver applies to airmen in their initial six-year enlistment in the Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve Command. Those airmen finding themselves without a new ANG or AFRC job must apply for a waiver through their local training offices.
The Air Force plans to add external weapons pylons on the B-1B bomber, both to increase the number of aircraft that can test hypersonic missiles and expand the Lancer’s loadout as USAF transitions to the B-21 bomber.
