Retired Maj. Carrol S. Woods died last week at age 88. The Montgomery, Ala., resident was one of the original airmen to train at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama during World War II. He flew with the 99th Fighter Squadron. (Read more in the Montgomery Advertiser and the Ledger-Enquirer.)
