According to US Air Forces in Europe officials, the C-17 dubbed “Spirit of Berlin” brought repeated expressions of amazement from its many visitors during the Berlin Air Show. It flew for spectators on opening day, then opened its crew door for visitors who gasped at the aircraft’s “cavernous interior,” wrote Air Force journalist MSgt. Chuck Roberts. The C-17 is assigned to the 315th Airlift Wing at Charleston AFB, S.C.
