City officials of Long Beach, Calif., are in Washington this week to lobby on behalf of the C-17, reports the Long Beach Report. Long Beach Mayor Beverly O’Neil and council members Frank Colonna and Tonia Reyes Uranga say that the Boeing C-17 is “critical for our national security and critical for our local economy.” The officials are scheduled to meet with Secretary of the Air Force Michael Wynne and Chief of Staff Gen. Michael Moseley.
