USAF’s aerial demonstration team, the Thunderbirds, has settled on its 2006 schedule. The team plans to perform 66 shows in 29 states. Some sites will have more than one show, each of which comprises some 40 aerial maneuvers spanning about one hour. The 2006 season starts in March and closes in November. U.S. Southern Command recently announced its first lethal strike on a suspected narco-trafficking vessel in two months, and the first under a newly formed permanent counter-cartel task force. The U.S. is also reportedly planning to transfer MQ-9 drones to Colombia to bolster its counter-cartel efforts.
