Raytheon officials say the company recently delivered the 2,000th Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) to the US Air Force. The event marked 48 months of on-time deliveries to JSOW users—USAF, Navy, and Marine Corps, assert company officials. JSOW production moves into Block II next year—at a “significantly lower” unit price, they say. Raytheon and the Navy are working on a Block III version for 2009.
The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
