The Air Force has announced the five teams winning the 2005 Chief of Staff Team Excellence Awards. They were chosen from a field of 15 teams, all of which, said Air Force officials, promoted systematic process improvements, leading in many cases to cost savings and mission improvement. The teams are assigned to units in California, Colorado, Hawaii, North Carolina, and Washington. Read the list here.
The Air Force plans to add external weapons pylons on the B-1B bomber, both to increase the number of aircraft that can test hypersonic missiles and expand the Lancer’s loadout as USAF transitions to the B-21 bomber.
