According to the Air Force’s top enlisted airman, CMSAF Rodney McKinley, “One thing we haven’t done well is to tell our story.” So, USAF will build on its initial “Air Force Week” event in St. Louis and hopes to expand it to perhaps 10 cities in 2007. McKinley told Air Force Magazine Monday that cities where there is no military presence are of particular concern, and USAF officials want to focus information efforts there.
Airmen basic rarely go on to become four-star generals, but one who did retired last week after a 42 year career that saw him rise from a lowly slick-sleeve to the head of one of the Air Force’s most important major commands.
