Air Mobility Command officials have set the date for Rodeo 2007—July 22-28, 2007, at McChord AFB, Wash. The international competition will comprise more than 100 teams and 2,500 USAF, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve Command, and allied forces airmen. Maj. Gen. Scott Gray, commander of the Air Mobility Warfare Center and Rodeo 2007 boss, says that AMC considers Rodeo essential as a forum for allied forces to share tactics and techniques they can use to improve operations in the war on terror.
Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Kenneth S. Wilsbach told lawmakers Apr. 30 that the service’s biggest airlifter, the C-5 Galaxy, has a 37 percent mission capable rate—one of several challenges facing the mobility fleet.
